BAKERSFIELD- On Sunday Nov. 6, the Bakersfield Comic Con will be back for its fourth exciting year.

The event will be held at The Double Tree Hotel located 3100 Camino Del Rio Court, Bakersfield, CA.

Steve Wyatt, who’ s the convention director, started promoting comics and the industry of comics back in 1979. Wyatt puts on this convention because when he moved to Kern County, he noticed there wasn’t a lot of comic book stores around. He believed that Kern County was comic book deprived.

“Everyone should be reading comic books,” said Wyatt.

Whether you are young or old, come out and support your fellow comic book guild. Admission is only $5 and all children under the age of 8 will be admitted for free.

The event starts at 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The two can’t miss activities are- the 11 a.m. workshop on how to publish your own written comic books or graphics and the 2 p.m. charity raffle. All the proceeds from the raffle will go to the Bakersfield Food Bank. You must be present to win.

For music fans Jane Wiedlin, one of the five founding members of ‘The GOGO’S,’ will be present. Wiedlin is now a comic book writer and creator.

This event provides fun excitement for the whole family. Parents and children will be able to enjoy the many booths, artists and gaming workshops.

Be sure to arrive early because the first 250 people will win a free Original Limited Edition print done for the Bakersfield Comic-Con by this year’s special guests Mike Kazaleh, Mike Hampton and Brandon Bracamonte.
