Arvin, Calif. – Building Healthy Communities South Kern (BHC-SK) Health Action Team, a comprehensive community initiative with over 1,200 members is having two health care enrollment events.
The enrollment events will be taking place on Tuesday, January 28, at the David Head Center in Lamont and Tuesday, February 11, at the Arvin Veteran’s Hall in Arvin. Both events begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m.
In these events families and individuals can learn about the Affordable Care Act commonly known as Obamacare and get in-person assistance to help enroll into Medi-Cal or a qualified health plan through California’s health insurance marketplace – Covered California.
The events are free and open to anyone seeking information or needing help with enrolling. Those interested in enrolling into a health care program, should bring the following documents:
- Proof of Income for all family members on application
- Legal resident card or Certificate of Naturalized Citizenship
- Proof of Kern County residency (driver’s license, utility bill, etc.)
- Copy of SSN and DOB for each family member in household
