May Day March and Rally, May 1

Youth leaders from South Kern Sol, community organizations, residents, and local businesses will be launching this year’s Social Justice Series on May 1 with a march and rally starting at 10 a.m. at Mill Creek Linear Park.

The event will encourage civic participation and encourage residents to become outspoken advocates and #Resist attacks against our vulnerable communities.

There will be activities for children, performers, music, speakers, and informational booths.

Advocates will demand that local leaders fight for the health of our communities by ensuring that everyone has access to health care, investing in education and not incarceration and demand the a stop to criminalizing immigrants, refugees, muslims and people of color.
