2019 Women’s March organizers host sign making event Friday

January 8, 2019 /

Are you marching in the 2019 Women’s March? If so, organizers are encouraging marchers to prepare this Friday at a sign making event.

“We’re getting ready for this year’s big march,” says the event’s Facebook page.

The event runs from 4-7 p.m. at 200 W Jeffrey St.

Organizers will provide some sign making supplies but ask the public to bring supplies as well.

“Everyone can share in the message and the artistry,” the Facebook page says. “Let’s represent the principles that unify us as a community supporting liberty and justice for all!”

Kern County’s second Women’s March is taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 19 at Central Park at Mill Creek, 606 21st St.

“We are excited to bring Kern County together again for this unifying event that highlights our diversity and catapults our message for true equality at a time when many marginalized communities continue to feel threatened,” said Kimberly Kirchmer, executive director of Women’s March Kern County.
