Las Cafeteras to perform at Dream for Social Justice Concert

April 10, 2019 /

Please join South Kern Sol in partnership with Project Conexiones of Bakersfield College for this special musical performance, Dream for Social Justice Concert, featuring Las Cafeteras and Velorio.

The free event will open with an artistic and cultural resource celebration, followed by a musical performance.

This event will focus on lifting up immigrant youth voices and empowering Kern County to get civically engaged for the health of the community. During the event, immigrant youth advocates will speak about local issues impacting Kern’s undocumented communities and offer solutions as to how the community can be more supportive of this vulnerable population. The event will also be used to promote awareness regarding the importance of the 2020 Census.

To attend this event, please fill out the Dream for Social Justice Concert Registration Form. Free food will be provided to the first 250 people who register. For more information, view the Dream for Social Justice Concert flyer.

The Dream for Social Justice Concert is co-sponsored by South Kern Sol, the Catalyst Fund Immigrants Rising grant, Project Conexiones at Bakersfield College and Building Health Communities Kern.

The event kicks off at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at the Edward Simonsen Performing Arts Center (Outdoor Theater) at Bakersfield College.
