Friendship House recruiting for mentoring program

October 22, 2019 /

The Friendship House Community Center is currently looking for individuals for the mentoring program.

The program, put on by Community Action Partnership of Kern, is recruiting both mentees and mentors.

Those interested in being a mentor must complete an application, pass a background check and attend a one-time orientation. Mentors must be able to commit to volunteering one hour a week for one year.

Those interested in being a mentee or know someone who could benefit from a mentor must be between the ages of 6 to 18 years old. Mentees will learn to improve relationships with family, authority and peers; improve school attendance and grades; and be prompted to the next grade level in school.

To apply or for more information, call 661-369-8926 or email lhannib@capk.org.
