Health officials confirm 2 more COVID-19 related deaths, totaling to 27

The Kern County Public Health Department confirmed Friday morning two new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 27 deaths in Kern County.

Of the 1,705 COVID-19 cases in Kern, 1,151 people have recovered while there are still 517 active cases of COVID-19.

Of the active cases, 38 people are isolating in a hospital, while the remaining are isolating at home.

The majority of the cases fall in the 18-49 age group, with a total of 943 cases. The majority of the cases have also been identified as Hispanic, making up 66.3 percent of Kern’s COVID-19 cases.
