Public health officials confirm 85 new COVID-19 cases, 1 more death

The Kern County Public Health Department confirmed 85 new COVID-19 cases and one new COVID-19 related death Tuesday morning, bringing the total number of deaths to 54.

Of the total 3,462 cases of COVID-19 in Kern, 2,284 people have recovered, while there are 1,114 active cases.

There are were 75 people being hospitalized.

The majority of the cases fall in the 18 to 49 age group, with a total of 1,963 cases. The majority of Kern’s cases have also been identified as Hispanic. The Hispanic cases make up 66.3 percent of Kern’s cases.
