Health officials confirm 216 new COVID-19 cases in Kern, 21 new hospitalizations, 3 new COVID-19 related deaths

The Kern County Public Health Department confirmed Tuesday 216 new COVID-19 cases, the most ever confirmed in one day.

And this isn’t the only metric Kern is seeing a drastic rise in.

Health officials also confirmed 21 more people than the day before are isolating in the hospital, bringing the total number of hospitalizations to 146. Twenty-one new hospitalizations are the most ever confirmed new hospitalizations in one day.

The Public Health Department also announced three more COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 87.

There are a total of 5,769 cases of COVID-19 in Kern. Of these cases, 3,870 people have recovered, while there are still 1,804 active cases.
