Workers in California impacted by COVID-19 who may need assistance navigating their employment rights will now have support, following the launch of a helpline this week as part of California Rural Legal Assistance Inc., response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Helpline volunteers are trained and experienced in helping individuals understand the various types of public benefits available, and attorneys are on standby to provide legal advice and assistance when an individual has a legal issue related to their employment and COVID-19.
The helpline is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers answering the hotline are fluent in English and Spanish, and professional interpreters are on standby to provide interpretation for other languages.
