These results are from the Kern County Elections Office. They were updated at 2:18 a.m.

Arvin Mayoral Race

Newcomer Olivia Trujillo Continues to take the lead in the Arvin Mayoral race, as of 2:18 a.m.

The latest results show Trujillo is leading with 716 votes or 58.35 percent.

Current Mayor, Jose Gurrola is behind Trujillo has 41.48 percent of the votes, and is behind by 207 votes.

All five of the precincts have been accounted for.

21st Congressional District
Challenger David Valadao is taking the lead for the 21st Congressional District with the latest election results, according to the Associated Press. 

Although unofficial, Valadao had 51.4 percent percent of the votes, totaling to 56,269 votes. 

Incumbent TJ Cox has 48.6 percent of the votes, totaling to 53,236 votes. 

TJ Cox won the 2018 election against Valadao. It was a close race as election officials in the districts were counting votes weeks after Election Day. 

The 21st Congressional District covers part of Fresno, Kern, Tulare, and Kong’s counties. 

BCSD Board of Trustees, District 3

For the Bakersfield City School Board District 3, Chris Cruz-Boone is taking the lead with the latest election results released at 2:18 a.m.

The latest results show newcomer Cruz-Boone taking the lead with 2,364 votes or 54.75 percent. Incumbent, Ralph Anthony is behind by 415 votes.

All 23 precincts have been accounted for.

BCSD Board of Trustees, District 5
Shannon Zimmerman is taking the lead for the Bakersfield City School Board Member- District 5 race.

The latest results show Zimmerman is taking the lead with 1,623 votes or 38.22 percent.

“I am optimistic about the results so far,” she told Kern Sol News on Tuesday night. “I’m beyond excited for the possibility to serve BCSD and families in our community.”

Brooke Malley Ault tags behind with 1,000 votes or 25.90 percent.

Shannon Zimmerman is a local educator with 20 years of experience in education. Zimmerman is best known for introducing the Google platform to Kern County in 2013.

BCSD Trustee Area #5 encompasses Bakersfield South and Southwest borders.

All 32 precincts have been accounted for.

Delano City Council

The latest results for Delano City Council show two newcomers in the lead for the Delano City Council race.

Veronica Vasquez taking the lead with 2,006 votes or 20.39 percent. Joe L Alindajao is following her with 1,840 votes of 18.7 percent of the ballots case. Grace Vallejo is in third place with 1,405 votes, or 14.28 percent. Salvador Solorio-Ruiz is following closely behind Vallejo with 14.12 percent of the votes.

All 15 precincts have been accounted for.

There are three seats open on this board. It is an at-large district, which means the three candidates with the most votes will fill the seats.

McFarland City Council

Two newcomers are leading the McFarland City Council race. Saul Ayon is taking the lead for the McFarland City Council with 447 votes, or 28.34 percent of the votes. Ricardo Cano is following with 18.14 percent of the votes. Stephen G. McFarland is in third place with 275 votes, or 17.44 percent of the votes.

This race, like Delano, is for an at-large district. All three precincts have been accounted for.

Bakersfield City Council, Ward 1

For Bakersfield City Council, Ward 1 seat, Eric Arias is leading the race with 3,554 votes, or 76.38 percent of the votes. All 40 of the precincts have been accounted for.

Kern High School District Board of Trustees, Area 3

Newcomer David F. Manriquez has is leading the KHSD Area 3 race against incumbent Joey O’Connell with 52.77 percent of the votes.
