Public Health announces 323 new COVID-19 cases, 2 more deaths

The Kern County Public Health Department confirmed Wednesday 323 new COVID-19 cases in Kern and two new COVID-19 deaths.

There are now a total of 42,937 cases of COVID-19 in Kern and 451 COVID-19 deaths.

Of the deaths, 60.9 percent of them have been identified as Hispanic. The most common underlying medical conditions include Hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Of those infected with COVID-19, 115 people are isolating in the hospital, according to Kern County Public Health. Of these cases, 41 people are in the intensive care unit, leaving 35 ICU beds available in Kern, according to the California Department of Public health.
