Health officials confirm 948 new COVID-19 cases

The Kern County Public Health Department confirmed Monday 948 new COVID-19 cases in Kern County, bringing the total to 59,148.

Of the total cases, 19,566 people have recovered, meaning 39,582 people are still sick with the virus.

According to the California Department of Public Health, there were 362 patients with COVID-19 in local hospitals as of Sunday. Of these patients, 73 were in the Intensive Care Unit, leaving 19 ICU beds available in Kern’s hospitals.
