Health officials confirm 608 new COVID-19 cases

The Kern County public Health Department confirmed Tuesday 608 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 72,878 cases.

Of this total, 20,841 people have recovered. Health officials did not announce any new COVID-19 deaths. There has been 518 COVID-19 deaths in Kern.

As of Monday, there were 401 COVID-19 patients in Kern hospitals. Of these patients, 90 were in the Intensive Care Unit, leaving 9 ICU beds available, according to the California Department of Public Health.
