Arvin High School held it’s class of 2021 commencement on Friday evening, June 11, 2021 as a gentle breeze cooled graduates, family and friends.
As the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions eased in California and Kern County, Arvin High graduates were allowed to have two guest sit with them in a socially distanced arrangement on the field at Frank Barle Stadium and two more guest were allowed to sit in the stands.
For the first time, six students from Arvin High also earned an associates of arts degree from Bakersfield College concurrently with their high school degrees. Sonya Christian from the Kern Community College District was at hand to honor the six students.
The 2021 class is unique in completing much of their junior and senior years of studies under Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
