On Sunday, June 9, the City of Arvin will be hosting their second annual Arvin Clean Energy Fair, a community-focused event dedicated to raising awareness about clean energy solutions and sustainable living practices.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Garden in the Sun Park and will feature EVs, E-Bikes, health and energy programs, music, and games. Free food and aqua frescas will also be provided.
The Arvin Clean Energy Fair was created to help Arvin residents learn more about all of the clean energy programs that are available to them
“We aim to inspire and empower individuals to adopt cleaner, more sustainable energy practices,” said Isabella Palacio a CivicSpark Fellow for the City of Arvin.
The fair will feature a variety of activities including demonstrations of electric vehicles and renewable energy technologies, and interactive informational booths.
Palacio stated that the turnout last year hadn’t been as high as they had hoped, possibly due to the time of day and the day it was held making it inaccessible to people. The City hopes that the changes the made to the event time this year and the extra advertising will increase the crowd.
“We know a lot of agricultural workers work on Saturdays and so we hope that Sunday after church will be a more accessible time,” stated Palacio. “We’re just really excited to invite the residents to come and learn about these resources.”
