The Central California Justice Network (CCEJN) is offering free Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration systems to McFarland and San Joaquin residents as part of their Weather Resilience Program.
This program will provide essential air and water filtration systems in phase I, and low carbon emissions cooling devices during phase II, to eligible low-income households in the San Joaquin Valley who are most affected by climate change-related events.
“The San Joaquin Valley is one of the most vulnerable regions in the country to extreme heat and climate change, as well as historic environmental injustices. We’re excited to partner with GoFundMe to provide our communities with safe drinking water, improved indoor air quality, and heat relief,” said Nayamin Martinez, Executive Director for CCEJN.
McFarland and San Joaquin residents can find the CCEJN Weather Resilience Program Interest Form here. According to the form all information given is confidential and this form does not guarantee eligibility for this program. CCEJN will reach back after the form is completed and if qualified based on health, need and income criteria.
There is a limit to approximately 40 households in both communities to secure a spot for the program.
“As our communities face the growing impacts of climate change, clean water is more important than ever. This program helps protect your family’s health while building resilience against extreme weather conditions… Together we can reduce effects of climate change and ensure a safe future for our loved ones,” said CCEJN officials.
