On Saturday, September 28, the Kern Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (KernDHRS) will host a Recovery Resources Fair to celebrate substance use recovery month and learn about community resources located at Central Park at Mill Creek from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Resources Fair will offer information on community resources to help with substance use recovery in Kern County, along with food, games, and raffles the community can enjoy. The event will also honor the lives lost to substance use, provide resources to individuals who may be interested in beginning their recovery journey, and there will be an opportunity for people to share and listen to recovery stories.
There will be about 50 vendors on hand that will provide resources for the recovery community. Some of the vendors include Hall Ambulance, Kern County Probation, Kern County Sheriff’s Office and other treatment providers throughout the County.
“The goal is to celebrate the successes of all of those in recovery from substance use and to provide resources to the community for people and their families that are interested in beginning their recovery journey,” said KernBHRS officials.
This is KernBHRS first resources fair since post-covid. The last one was in 2019.
The Resources Fair will be free and open to the public.
