On Wednesday, November 16, the Bakersfield City Council held a meeting to discuss their plans for renovating Martin Luther King, Jr.
This Thanksgiving holiday Bakersfield’s Burrito Project celebrated by passing out hot breakfast burritos with hygiene products, blankets, socks, and other essential items.
During Wednesday evening’s Bakersfield City Council meeting, council members voted unanimously to approve the Majestic Gateway Project despite the health and safety concerns posed by residents of South Bakersfield where the warehouse will be built.
As the Bakersfield City Council’s decision on whether or not to approve the Majestic Gateway Project approaches, local leaders have scheduled a community meeting for this afternoon to further discuss what this project would mean for the community surrounding Greenfield and South Bakersfield.
During their November 2 Bakersfield City Council meeting, residents stepped forward to speak up against the proposed Majestic Gateway Project that would place a one million square foot distribution center within two miles of 19 different schools.
