The San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District and the Clean Air Rooms program are offering free air purifiers to residents in disadvantaged communities to help reduce the harmful effects of wildfire smoke.
A lawsuit was filed against the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District (Valley Air District) by San Joaquin Valley environmental justice advocates with the Central Valley Air Quality Coalition, Center on Race, Poverty, and the Environment, Committee for a Better Arvin, Committee for a Better Shafter, and Delano Guardians.
This funding will cover incentives for replacing heavy-duty trucks, heavy-duty agriculture equipment, school buses, and other incentives to help improve the air quality.
