August 23, 2019 /

A Delano councilman is hosting a town hall this weekend to discuss one of the latest resolutions passed in the city.

Councilmember Bryan Osorio plans to talk about what it means to be a sanctuary city and what the community can expect from the resolution.

Delano became the first city in Kern County to declare itself a sanctuary city after the city council voted to approve a resolution at the Aug. 5 meeting.

There will also be time allocated for a Know Your Rights Workshop, hosted by the American Civil Liberties Union SoCal.

The event runs from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Jefferson Center, 436 Jefferson St., Delano.
