The McFarland Recreation and Park District will be giving away free masks Tuesday beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The District will be handing out nearly 750 masks, according to McFarland Recreation and Park District Manager Jeff Nickell.
“Our goal is to keep everybody safe,” Nickell said.
Some of the masks are in a kit form, where people can make their own. The kit will include a face cloth covering and directions on how to make your own.
Last week, the CDC and California Department of Public Health made the recommendation for people to wear some type of cloth face covering when out in public to reduce the chance of transmission of COVID-19.
The mask giveaway will take place at the Parks and Recreation Parking lot, 100 South 2nd St. in McFarland. There is a limit of two masks per household.
