Census Bureau call agents to assist with outbound calling for accurate Census count

The Census Bureau has begun to call select households to collect and clarify missing data from their 2020 Census forms that have already been submitted.

The Census Bureau will continue to reach out to residents through October 31, 2020.

Call center agents review responses with households that have completed the 2020 Census in order to ensure the Bureau has a complete and accurate count.

The goal is to ensure no one was missed or counted in more than one place.

All responses are kept confidential. The call center agent will not ask about financial information or Social Security Numbers, rather the agent will only review the responses that were previously provided, according to the Census Bureau.

The Census Bureau will call using dedicated English and Spanish toll-free numbers:

  • 844-809-7717 (English)
  • 844-809-7718 (Spanish)

The Census Bureau is encouraging those who have not responded to the Census to do so. People have until Oct. 31 to respond. Census forms can be filled out online, by phone, or mail.
