Kern Public Health to distribute gift cards this week at free COVID-19 testing sites

Beginning Monday, any person who gets a COVID-19 test at one of the following testing sites below is eligible for a $25 VISA gift card:

  1. Wasco Library – 1102 7th Street, Wasco, CA
  2. Rosamond Library – 3611 W Rosamond Blvd, Rosamond, CA
  3. Arvin Public Health Building – 204 S Hill, Arvin, CA
  4. Lamont Library – 8304 Segrue Road, Lamont, CA
  5. Kern Valley Hospital – 4308 Birch Street, Mountain Mesa, CA
  6. Good Samaritan Hospital – 901 Olive Drive, Bakersfield, CA

There are also Public Health Nursing mobile testing site, in partnership with the Kern County Latino Task Force, at the following locations:

  1.  12/1/20 from 12pm to 4pm – Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1015 Clinton Street, Delano, CA  
  2.  12/2/20 from 12pm to 4pm – Bear Mountain Elementary School, 1501 Hood St. Arvin, CA  
  3. 12/3/20 from 12pm to 4pm – Sierra Vista Elementary, 300 Franklin St. Arvin, CA  
  4.  12/5/20 from 10am to 2pm – Weedpatch Supermarket Parking Lot, 8101 Buena Vista Blvd. Lamont, CA

Mobile test sites with NO GIFT CARD opportunity:

  1. 12/4/20 from 9am to 5pm – Greenfield Family Resource Center 5400 Monitor Street, Bakersfield, CA 
  2.  12/6/20 from 11am to 3pm – Gurdwara Dasmesh Darbar, 7000 Wible Road, Bakersfield, CA

Coronavirus testing is a vital resource to help slow the spread of coronavirus, as well as help the county move out of the state’s most restrictive purple tier when the Governor lifts the statewide “emergency brake,” Public Health said in a news release.

Public Health said, “As cases continue to rise throughout our community, we urge residents to continue to practice healthy habits such as hand washing, physical distancing and wearing a mask when in public.”
