Heart for Art event seeking art supply donations

March 15, 2021 /

The residents at the M Street Navigation Center is asking the community for donations so M Street residents can express themselves therapeutically and
positively through various art forms for the Heart for Art event.

M Street is asking for donations of journals, sketch pads, colored pens/pencils, adult coloring books, clay, fabrics, paints and easels. They would also benefit from word search and crossword puzzle books.

Adult men and women reside at the M Street Center where they learn to overcome barriers to a better life that include inadequate job skills, mental health issues and addiction so they can secure housing and employment.

Your donation will provide them with positive ways of self-expression which, in turn, will support healing and the self-esteem needed for them to move in the direction of self-sufficiency.

Donations may be dropped off at the shelter at 2900 M Street, Bakersfield,
CA 93301 Fridays between 1 and 5 pm. M Street Navigation Center is a low-barrier shelter for people experiencing homelessness operated through a partnership between Kern County and the Community Action Partnership of Kern.
