All of Us or None host a T-Shirt design contest to bolster vaccination efforts

August 30, 2021 /

If you’d like a chance to win a prize and protect your community, All of Us or None, a key partner with the United Against COVID-19 Coalition in Kern County, has an opportunity for you.

All of Us or None is hosting a T-Shirt design contest that will inspire people in the community to get vaccinated.

As Kern County hospitals continue to see an increase in COVID-19 patients and cases, some health officials worry that a third surge will be overwhelming on the county’s resources. According to a recent report in the Bakersfield Californian, “More younger, and healthier, individuals are showing up in emergency rooms, a change from previous coronavirus waves where people with comorbidities were the ones who were most commonly treated. The new group is mostly unvaccinated, and likely falling victim to the more transmissible variants.”

The winner will receive a $300 Visa card. The second-place winner will be awarded a $100 card, and third place will receive a $50 card. The contest is open to ages 5-18, and participants must be enrolled in a Kern County school. The contest will include three age categories: 5 – 11, 12-14, and 15-18.

“Our coalition knows that we can’t wait another minute, and we need to do everything we can to get people vaccinated,” said Ucedrah Osby with All of Us or None. “This is a nice incentive that will put some money into a young person’s pocket and help our community. Get your designs in now.”

Those who are interested are instructed to develop an original slogan or graphic about getting vaccinated and submit their artwork in black and white. A full list of rules can be found here on the All of Us or None website.

The deadline to submit is Sept. 8, 2021. Finalists will be chosen by a youth coalition from All of Us or None. The winner will be determined by online votes.

“We have a number of creative youth in Kern County,” said Teonna Fowler with All of Us or None Youth Coalition. “We can’t wait to see what they design to help defeat this deadly pandemic.”

Contestants can submit their design here.
