Local organization bringing Black History celebration to Bakersfield

February 24, 2022 /

On Saturday, February 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., All of Us or None (AOUON) will be hosting their inaugural Black History Social Justice Celebration at MLK Park.

AOUON President Ucedrah Osby said the goal of this celebration is to bring awareness and education of social justice issues in Kern County.

“It’s so important to speak out because life altering decisions are being made daily,” Osby stated. “Equity for us can only be achieved when we all are intentionally engaged. This is an epic opportunity to join in the demand of what the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution guarantee.”

Osby also stated that this event will highlight Black contributions in the United States and invite the community to use their powerful voices to speak out against injustices that they continue to be impacted by.

Food, drinks, and activities will be available during this celebration. More information can be provided by calling AOUON at 661-616-8625 or sending an email to AOUONBakersfield@gmail.com.
