On June 8th, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a free event will be centered around enrolling residents into Medi-Cal. This event will be located at the Kern County Fairgrounds, 1142 S P St in Bakersfield. Medi-Cal eligibility workers and enrollment counselors will be present at the event to answer questions about changes to this year’s application, like eligibility.
This year Medi-Cal will continue expanding its scope of acceptance, now allowing individuals of all ages to apply regardless of immigration status, according to the Department of Health Care Services.
New eligibility changes this year are that your personal bank information is not included in the application process, and all adults and their dependents are offered full-scope benefits regardless of citizenship status.
Those interested in attending the enrollment event should bring the following items:
Driver’s License or a state ID card
Proof of Income or most recent monthly pay stub or check
Proof of Kern residency like a utility bill
Birth Certificate from any county
Organizers have asked If you can bring the following items to the event please do so:
Your current Medi-Cal card
Medi-Cal renewal packet
Social Security number
Legal resident card or naturalization certificate
