Leticia Perez wins re-election by 133 votes

Today, the Kern County Elections Office released the final voting results for the Kern County Board of Supervisors District 5 seat with Supervisor Leticia Perez winning her re-election by 133 votes over Kimberly Salas. 

As of the final update, Perez had 14,758 votes (50.23%) and Salas 14,625 votes (49.77%).

According to the Kern County Elections office, all Kern County ballots have been processed and the final results will be certified and published on Thursday, December 5th. 

In a statement released by Perez, she thanked her campaign team, her supporters and frames her victory as a collective achievement for all of Kern County. 

“This win is not just for me, but for all our Kern County familia. To every hard-working oil field worker fueling our nation; To every labor union member building the next generation; To every farmworker working tirelessly every day to feed the world; To every first responder keeping our streets safe; To every brave parent raising a family during hard times and to all the courageous boys and girls on the east side who dare to dream of a better future…this win is for all of us,” said Perez.
