Rep. Ro Khanna to hold town halls in Republican-led CA districts

March 14, 2025 /

Congressman Ro Khanna (D-CA) will host a series of town halls on Sunday, March 23, in California districts that are currently held by Republicans. Which are currently represented by Republican lawmakers David Valadao (CA-22), Young Kim (CA-40), and Ken Calvert (CA-41).

His “Benefits Over Billionaires” tour will rally support for Democrats in the 2026 elections and push for policies that benefit working people over big corporations.

The 22nd District includes parts of Kern, Kings, and Tulare counties, including cities Bakersfield, Hanford, and Visalia.

The 40th District primarily covers northern and eastern Orange County, including cities Anaheim, Garden Grove, and Orange.

The 41st District is largely in Riverside County, including cities Norco, Corona, and parts of Riverside.

One of Khanna’s main targets is California’s district 22nd, currently represented by Rep. David Valadao (R-CA).

Khanna told Kern Sol News that he sees the district as a prime opportunity for Democrats to gain ground.

“The path to the House in 2026 will run through California, and CA-22 is a clear pick-up opportunity,” Khanna said. “Rep. Valadao’s constituents deserve a representative who will listen and stand up to the Trump administration to protect their Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid benefits. If he won’t listen to his constituents, then I will. Success will be flipping his seat in 2026, and getting people energized and engaged is the best way to ensure that happens.”

Khanna’s goal is to engage voters in Republican-led districts, discuss economic and healthcare policies, and build momentum for a Democratic House majority in 2026.

Khanna will hold town halls on March 23 in three districts:

• Bakersfield (CA-22): 11:30 a.m. at Martin Luther King Community Center

• Norco (CA-41): 4:30 p.m. at Norco College Amphitheater

• Anaheim (CA-40): 7:00 p.m. at Peralta Canyon Park
