Wonderful Company launches $1 million grant program for rural Central Valley

July 1, 2025 /

The Wonderful Company has opened applications for its $1 million Wonderful Central Valley Community Grants program, which supports nonprofits and schools across rural California.

The company invites organizations serving Avenal, Delano, Del Rey, Firebaugh, Lost Hills, Mendota, Sanger, Shafter, and Wasco to apply.

According to The Wonderful Company, the grants aim to fund initiatives focused on health and wellness, education, recreation, community beautification, art, and social services in California’s Central Valley.

Each year, The Wonderful Company, co-owners Lynda and Stewart Resnick, and their foundations invest more than $35 million in community development, education, and health and wellness initiatives throughout the Central Valley and beyond. The company describes the Community Grants program as central to its mission of being “Wonderful Neighbors” by supporting the areas where its employees live and work.

“Many nonprofits, particularly those serving in rural communities, face an uncertain financial future in today’s environment,” said Andy Anzaldo, chief operating officer of corporate social responsibility at The Wonderful Company. “This is where private philanthropic investments like the Wonderful Community Grants program can make a crucial difference, supporting essential programs that residents and families rely on. There is no greater priority than ensuring the Central Valley remains a place where everyone can thrive.”

Over the past decade, The Wonderful Company and the Resnicks, through their foundations, have awarded more than $8.5 million in grants to 142 nonprofits and 165 schools across the San Joaquin Valley.

The Wonderful Philanthropy team will host a virtual information session about the grant process on Thursday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. Interested participants can register at bit.ly/2025-wonderful-community-grants.

Applicants must submit their materials by midnight PDT on August 31. The company will announce the 2025–26 class of grant recipients in October 2025.
