The California Racial Equity Commission will return to Bakersfield on Tuesday, July 15, as part of its Summer Roadshow. The public event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1910 19th Street, Suite A, in downtown Bakersfield.
According to organizers, the Commission will share updates on a new statewide equity plan they’re working on. People who attend can also share their thoughts and experiences to help shape the plan.
Bakersfield is one of several stops on the Commission’s summer tour.
“As part of their commitment to community engagement, the Commission is returning to regions previously visited, including Fresno, Oakland, Yuba City, and Imperial Valley, to listen and gather regional input that will strengthen the framework’s impact. That’s why the Commission is coming to Bakersfield – to hear directly from local residents and ensure their voices are included in the development process,” said Bryan Osorio with Building Healthy Communities Kern.
Refreshments will be provided by Building Healthy Communities Kern, and translation services will be available for attendees.
The roadshow is one of several stops throughout the state to increase public engagement around racial equity issues in California.
The event is supported by Kern Family Health Care and Building Healthy Communities Kern.
