Health officials confirm 371 cases in Kern

The Kern County Public Health Department confirmed Friday afternoon 371 cases of COVID-19 in Kern.

This includes eight non-residents who have tested positive while in Kern. There have also been three COVID-19 related deaths in Kern.

There have been 6,303 COVID-19 tests conducted in Kern. While 3,457 tests have come back negative, there are still 2,475 tests pending results.

Nineteen of the confirmed cases fall in the 0-17 age group; 200 fall in the 18-49 age group; 98 in the 50-64 age group; and 46 fall in the 65 and over age group.

The county is divided into five regions: Valley, Bakersfield West, Bakersfield East, Mountain, and desert. Forty-eight cases have been identified in the Valley region, 133 cases in the Bakersfield West region, 160 cases in the Bakersfield East region, 11 cases in the Mountain region, and 11 case in the Desert region.
