UPDATE: County officials announce changes to COVID-19 testing sites

June 22, 2020 /

Kern County officials announced updates to some of the COVID-19 testing sites in Kern County.

Megan Person, the chief communications officer for Kern County, said the drive thru location at the Kern County Fairgrounds is only taking patients who are 18 year old or older, and the County testing site in Lamont tests children that are five years old or older.

There is also a new location in Rosamond (3200 Glendower St., Rosamond 93560), replacing the Mojave location, which is now closed.

There have been more than 9,800 COVID-19 tests administered at the County and State funded testing sites, Person said Monday.

Health officials announced 75 new COVID-19 cases Monday, bringing the total to 3,975. Of this number, there are 1,228 active cases, while 2,677 people have recovered.
