Health officials confirm 158 news COVID-19 cases in Kern

The Kern County Public Health Department confirmed Tuesday 158 new COVID-19 cases.

This brings the total number of cases to 6,769. Of these cases, 4,302 people have recovered, while there are still 2,369 active cases in Kern.

There are currently 238 COVID-19 patients in Kern hospitals, according to the California Department of Public Health. Of these patients, 142 people are in isolation in the hospital. There are 57 patients in ICU beds, leaving 86 ICU beds available in Kern County.

Health officials did not confirm any new COVID-19 related deaths. As of Tuesday, there were 98 COVID-19 related deaths.
