Community Action Partnership of Kern and Kern County Public Health will be holding COVID-19 vaccination clinics around Kern County over the next two weeks.
These clinics are free and the general public is being encouraged to attend. The events are being held in local neighborhoods at CAPK Head Start early childhood education centers.
The Pfizer vaccine will be available for those ages 12 and up. In addition, Johnson & Johnson will also be available for those 18 and up.
Vaccination clinics will be held on the following dates:
- October 20 — 1111 Bush Street, Arvin from 2 to 4:30 p.m., second dose: November 10 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
- October 26 — 1825 Feliz Drive, Bakersfield from 1 to 4 p.m., second dose: November 16 from 1 to 4 p.m.
- November 1 — 115 Central Valley Hwy. Shafter from 1 to 4 p.m., second dose November 22 from 1 to 4 p.m.
“Vaccinations are a critical tool in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and CAPK is urging members of our communities to take advantage of these opportunities to help reduce serious illness and death from this deadly virus,” CAPK wrote in a press release that was sent out yesterday.
In addition to the COVID-19 vaccine, the clinic sites will also have COVID-19 testing available to anyone who needs it.
