Arvin embraces renewable energy: city to host inaugural Clean Energy Fair to combat air pollution

June 14, 2023 /

On June 24, the City of Arvin will be hosting its first-ever Arvin Clean Energy Fair to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Garden in the Sun Park located at 201 Walnut Street.

“Arvin has one of the most severe cases of air pollution within the San Joaquin Valley. By reducing your energy consumption, you possess the power to directly enhance the air quality in Arvin,” the City of Arvin stated in a press release.

The press release continues by stating that the adoption of cleaner energy approaches can effectively diminish the emission of hazardous substances associated with conventional energy utilization methods.

The Arvin Clean Energy Fair will provide a unique and enjoyable setting for local, regional, and state agencies — along with community-based organizations — to engage with Arvin and Lamont residents in discussions surrounding renewable energy and energy efficiency programs. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in various activities, including a free solar program, learn about resident utility rebate programs, electric vehicle displays, fun raffles, and be able to enjoy food, games, and music.

“This is your chance to make a difference by engaging with passionate experts, leading industry professionals, and fellow eco-conscious individuals. It’s an incredible opportunity to ask questions, gather insights, and gain practical knowledge on incorporating clean energy solutions into your everyday life,” the press release states. “Whether you’re a homeowner or business owner, want to lower your utility bills, or are simply curious about clean energy, this fair is for you!”
