Community meeting being held to discuss carbon management in Kern

August 1, 2023 /

This evening, a Kern community meeting will take place to discuss the Kern Carbon Management Business Park (CMBP), which is the County’s plan for economic development for the future, and its potential impacts.

Carbon management is an organized approach to gain the strategic advantages of CO2 emissions reductions and more information about the CMBP is available here: https://cmbp.kernplanning.com/.

This meeting will occur on August 1 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in person and via Zoom. It will give community members the opportunity to learn more about CMBP and how these technologies claim to help meet the state’s climate goals. It will also give community members the opportunity to discuss any potential harm these technologies may bring to local communities.

Additionally, this meeting will provide community members with the opportunity to learn more about Kern’s air quality, this project, and opportunities to get involved.

The in-person meeting will be located at 1527 19th Street, Suite 212, Bakersfield, CA, 93301, and a link has been provided for those that wish to join through Zoom.
