Free fitness and nutrition classes making their way into Bakersfield

February 7, 2024 /

Starting tomorrow, February 8, the Kern County Public Health Department will begin hosting its Know Your Numbers Program in Bakersfield at the Bakersfield Community House at Mill Creek Park.

This traveling program offers two health screenings informing participants of their body mass index, blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol levels both before and after six weeks of nutrition coaching from our Public Health Nutritionist and fitness classes taught by our Health and Fitness Instructor. All fitness levels are welcome as our fitness instructor offers modifications for varied fitness levels and comfort.

Public Health is inviting the community to join them on Thursday between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for the initial health screenings and event kick-off. From then, fitness and nutrition classes will be held on Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m..

These classes will run from February 15 through March 21 and are available to the public, even if you didn’t attend the initial health screening.

Those interested can visit the Know Your Numbers program website to learn more about this event.
