On Wednesday and Thursday, March 20th and 21st, there will be an event held by the California Racial Equity Commission (CREC) to help educate the public about health inequities and much more.
Their goal is to connect with the community and hear feedback.
Day one will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will be held in Lamont at Myrtle Avenue Elementary School: 10421 Myrtle Ave. Lamont, California 9324. According to the event flier food will be available.
Speakers for Wednesday include Dr. Larissa Estes, the Executive Director of CREC, and Traco Matthews, the Chief Health Equity Officer of CREC.
Thursday’s presentation will feature Kern Sol’s Executive Director and Building Healthy Communities Kern President Reyna Olaguez on a panel that will facilitate a community forum.
Day two will take place at 1:15 p.m. in Delano on the Bakersfield College Delano campus. It’s located at 1450 Timmons Ave. Delano, California 93215.
This event is in partnership with organizations such as the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research, Lamont Elementary School District, Kern Health Systems, Kern Family Health Care, and Telehealth Docs.
