Bakersfield City Council officially adopts map 5B

Wednesday night the Bakersfield City Council officially adopted map 5B (Unity map).

The map had been submitted by the Jakara movement in hopes of keeping the Punjabi and other communities together as opposed to other maps that would separate them.

The Kegley Institute of Ethics at Cal State Bakersfield will be hosting the Humanities Beyond Bars (HBB) Symposium, a series of events April 7th and 8th, on the CSUB campus to bring together formerly incarcerated students and scholars, activists, and campus and community members for collaboration, mutual support, and knowledge sharing.

The Cal State University system has announced that they will be adding caste to their Interim CSU Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment, Sexual Misconduct, Sexual Exploitation, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Stalking, and Retaliation issued on January 1, 2022.
