Will the Board of Supervisors abandon its opposition to the California Values Act and insist Kern County law enforcement abstain from immigration enforcement?

Since 2018, the TRUTH (Transparent Review of Unjust Transfers and Holds) Act required the local governing body of any county in which a law enforcement agency (LEA) has provided ICE with access to an individual during the prior year to hold at least one community forum.
Kern’s second TRUTH Act Forum is taking place next week, where the Kern County Sheriff’s Office will report to the public about ICE’s access to individuals in Kern County.
