Kern County’s mass vaccination site located at the Kern County Fairgrounds is set to shut down due to a decrease in demand for COVID-19 vaccines, Kern Public Health officials told the Board of Supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting.
The state announced Tuesday that the Blueprint for a Safer Economy has retired, allowing most places to open and operate with no capacity limitations or social distancing requirements.
Kern County remains in the Orange Tier (Tier 3) of the COVID-19 Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
The United Against COVID-19 Coalition held a vaccination clinic on Thursday from 11:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m.
As people continue to get vaccinated against COVID-19, residents still need to take precautions to protect themselves from contracting the virus.
