The docu-series “Killing County” launched its first season earlier this month focusing on a string of killings from the Bakersfield Police Department and Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
The City of Wasco played a key role during the COVID-19 pandemic as they held pop-up vaccine clinics and food distributions with the help of the American Rescue Plan funding.
A free community vaccine clinic took place in Wasco on Sunday, allowing those aged five to 60 to receive their COVID-19 vaccine if they hadn’t already.
The City of Wasco held a vaccination clinic on June 26, where free vaccines, COVID tests, boxes of food, hand sanitizers, masks, and other resources were provided.
Self-Help Enterprises is currently bringing COVID relief programs to the communities of Wasco and Arvin.
These programs will be available for those affected by the pandemic to help pay their mortgage, utilities, and, beginning in April, rent assistance will be available as well.
